Job Description

Midwest Industries is looking for a motivated, dependable, and safety-focused individual to join our team as a full-time Fabrication Technician. This position plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining high-speed fabrication equipment used to cut, shape, and form metal materials. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to quality, teamwork, and attendance excellence. Candidates must be able to work safely and efficiently in both hot and cold environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor fabrication equipment used to cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, and straighten metal materials.
  • Install, align, and secure punches, dies, cutting blades, and other machine fixtures using gauges, templates, shims, and hand tools.
  • Accurately complete computer data entry and production documentation.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, productivity, and attendance.
  • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties and support production needs as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, handle and finger, reach outward, climb, crawl, squat or kneel, and bend as required by the role.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to push and pull weight as required by the role.
  • Requires near, distance, peripheral, and depth perception vision.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and grinding shield.

Work Environment

Must be able to work in hot and cold environments.
