In Memory of Byron L. Godbersen

IDA GROVE, IA, 8/14/03 — Midwest Industries, Inc., maker of ShoreLand’r Trailers, announced several organizational changes following the recent death of former CEO, Byron Godbersen. Godbersen, who had been CEO of both Midwest Industries and Byron Originals, Inc., died on May 11. His son-in-law, Midwest President Andy Brosius outlined the following changes in a memo to employees and distributors:

  • Mr. Godbersen’s widow, LaJune was appointed Chairperson of the Board of Midwest Industries, Inc. and Byron Originals, Inc.
  • Andy Brosius was appointed CEO and President of Midwest Industries, Inc.
  • Mr. Godbersen’s son, Bruce was appointed CEO and President of Byron Originals, Inc. He will also remain a Vice President of Midwest Industries, Inc.
  • Mr. Godbersen’s son-in-law, Don Rusch was appointed Vice President, Marketing for Midwest Industries, Inc.
  • Roger Harrington will remain CFO and Vice President of Midwest Industries, Inc.

Byron Godbersen founded Midwest Industries, Inc. in 1954 as a manufacturer of agricultural products. Today it is internationally recognized for marine products including ShoreLand'r Trailers and ShoreStation Lakefront Systems. The first ShoreLand'r trailer was introduced in 1971 and the company celebrated production of its one-millionth trailer in 1998.

Byron Originals was incorporated in 1975 to design, produce and market a line of giant scale, remote-control aircraft. Today, in addition to a line of R/C model fuels, it also produces outdoor furniture and pool accessories.
